Inés is one of the world’s luminaries in the art of blending tea: She is one of only eleven absolute “noses” of the tea world (3 are women) who blend for the most elite tea houses.
Her blends are served by over 500 restaurants and hotels, including the Mercer of New York, the fashion house Carolina Herrera, Bulgari, the hotel Delano of Miami, Las Balsas Relais & Chateaux, Hermes Latin America. The King of Spain, Uma Thurman, Lou Reed and up to the Dalai-Lama himself join her indefinable world of having drunk the infusions that she elaborates them in a personalized way, after perceiving a particularly aura of each one of them.
She has selected teas for Mariage Frères in Paris, one of the world’s most luxurious and famed names in tea; her own boutique and mark of the same name, TEALOSOPHY, is South America’s most exclusive, sold in the concourse adjacent to the Alvear Palace in Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Spain, and in other select luxury stores.
Guillermo’s path to tea entrepreneurship was not obvious based upon a literal reading of his education and career. Guillermo received an MBA from Cornell Business School in 1994 and immediately went to work for some of the world’s largest multinational companies: Kraft Foods, PepsiCo Snacks and Burger King.
Until 2002, Guillermo developed and trained his own business acumen in marketing. But his passion was elsewhere, and from his marketing experience, Guillermo gained the confidence to start INTI ZEN so that he could merge his business skills with his passion for tea and Eastern philosophy. In 2003 created Inti Zen, a tea company that blend tea from India and Sri Lanka with ingredients from Latin America.
In 2013, Chamana became a “Certified B Corporation”, meeting higher standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
